Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) AJK Education Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gillani assured that government was determined to end the culture of nepotism and favoritism from the State.
Speaking to public delegations that called on him here on Sunday he said competent and educated youth would be provided equal employment opportunities on merit. Near and dear one of ministers, bureaucrats and politically influential would have no favor whatsoever and they would compete with the others in the competitive examinations or recruitment by different departments in the State, he added.
Gillani, himself a highly educated minister, assured that merit was one of the priorities of PML-N government which was also on top of its manifesto. He told that soon the benefits of reforms in education department brought about by the government would be felt by the common man. He however, was of the view that alternate avenues of employments to the youth would be sought as government jobs opportunities were shrinking in AJK. In this connection private sector would be involved, he stated.
Gillani observed that previous government neither paid heed to creation of job opportunities for educated youth nor eradicated poverty from the State. He said state resources would be utilized to minimize the graph of unemployment from the State. The growth and development have kicked off, keeping in view of the needs and priorities and a lot of projects are already underway, he remarked. He said monitoring system has been introduced to ensure quality and standard and timely completion of these projects. He said Prime Minister Haider was also visiting different districts to have firsthand knowledge and requirements of the people.
