Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times): Punjab Arts Council organized a special Qawwali Night to keep the art of Qawwali alive. In Qawwali Night, the country's famous Qawwals Tanveer Salamat Noshahi and group performed brilliantly. Naheed Manzoor specially participated in Qawwali Night.
Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed in his welcome address said that Qawwali became the style of preaching of Sufis of Indo-Pak subcontinent and from here it was introduced to the whole
world. Addressing the Qawwali Night, Naheed Manzoor said that in order to light the candles of Islam in the Indian subcontinent, Sufis chose music from the colors of local art and culture and
gave it a new name. She said that by using subtle phrases like Qawwali, he attracted non- Muslims and conveyed the message of Islam to them. The Punjab Arts Council is working hard to keep the art of poetry alive. A large number of people participated in Qawwali Night.
