Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Chairman, Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL), while talking to reporters in Islamabad after his visit to Balochistan, said that he called on Governor of Balochistan Amanullah Yasinzai and Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazil Asghar. The meeting discussed the literary landscape of Balochistan and especially the performance of PAL.
The Governor of Balochistan assured the PAL of all possible help for the promotion of literature and the welfare of the writers.
The Chairman of the PAL told the Chief Secretary Balochistan regarding the establishment of a Literary Museum on Languages and Literature and apprised him of the details of the project.
Dr. Yousuf Khushk sought the cooperation of the Government of Balochistan for the construction of an auditorium and a writer’s house for the Quetta office of the Provincial Branch of the PAL and for immediate obstacles in the construction of the office.
Fazil Asghar appreciated the project and assured cooperation. Chief Secretary Balochistan assured all possible help. Branch Resident Director Afzal Murad was also present on the occasion.
They both sides also discussed the holding of a Literary Festival in Balochistan and termed it as a welcome step for the promotion of literary activities in Balochistan.
The Chairman of the PAL said that he also visited the Balochi Academy, Brahui Academy and Pashto Academy, the academics working in the field of language and literature in Balochistan and discussed mutual issues with the writers there.
