Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Pakistan Agricultural Research Council has posted Syed
Shamim-ul-Sibtain Shah, CSO / Director (FO&S), NARC as Director General NARC
vide its office order No. F.1-1/2020-Estt. Misc. (T&P) dated 06-04-2020. Syed
Shamim ul Sabtain is the senior most scientist in NARC and having vast experience
in agriculture research. Coordination Monitoring and Evaluation, which is one of the
important functions of PARC. Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali has been posted at this
important position as Member Incharge (Coordination & Monitoring) to perform this
function more effectively for the uplift of agriculture sector in collaboration with
National Agriculture Research System.
The intentions of PARC portrayed in the news items appeared in the daily
national newspaper on 06.04.2020 under caption, “PARC posted a Jr. Officer as DG,
NARC” are not correct. The PARC has made these transfer/postings in accordance
to Rules and Regulations in the interest of council.
Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) totally rejects this misleading
news report as false intended to damage the reputation of the Chairman as well as
PARC.
PARC strongly condemn the news as PARC is committed to work within rules
& regulations and all decisions in PARC are taken on the basis of merit and in
accordance with transparency. The post of Director General, NARC has already
been advertised in national press by M/o National Food Security & Research,
Islamabad and a regular incumbent will be appointed on merit very soon.
