Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) The “Municipal checkpoints†set-up in various areas of Rawalpindi for removal of encroachment have not gone operational even after one month of their establishment. Under the orders of Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Talat Mahmood Gondal, ADCG Nazia Parveen Suddhan accorded approval to set up four checkpoints to check encroachments from various busy markets and business centres located in Rawalpindi. Around two checkpoints were established near Commercial market and two in Raja Bazaar area respectively. Inspector of municipal TMA was made the in charge of municipal checkpoints. TMA anti-encroachment wing, and police force from relevant police station was to be deployed on the checkpoints, however, one month has passed but no such deployment has been made. .
