ISLAMABAD: NAB Multan in coordination with NAB Intelligence wing Islamabad has arrested Syed Muhammad Ejaz Hussain Kazmi, R/o Tehsil Yazman, District Bahawalpur on the allegations of cheating public at large by luring through impersonating himself as NAB officer.
According to a press release issued here on Thursday the NAB court had granted 14 days physical remand of Kazmi into NAB Multan custody. During interrogation, retrieval of further information of offences is expected.
Kazmi had promised to the people/complainants for allotment of State Land by using his influence with Revenue Authorities posing himself as NAB officer and thereby looted innocent people of their hard earned money of Rs. 26 million approx. He had also obtained money from different complainants for their induction in NAB and handed overthem fake appointment letters.
Meanwhile, the NAB Multan had also arrested Muhammad Nadeem from Tehsil Hasilpur, District Bahawalpur on 20th December, 2018 who also by impersonating himself as NAB officer. During inquiry conducted so far, the accused Muhammad Nadeem has confessed that he looted 11 persons and organizations and obtained approximately Rs.3.5 million.
As the cases of cheating public at large in the garb of impersonation as NAB officers have rapidly increased which deprives the people from their hard earned money but also earned bad name for the image and repute of NAB as an organization. Therefore, Honorable Justice Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB has taken stern action on the complaints of impersonating of people who by posing themselves as NAB officer were cheating people and directed all concerned to proceed as per law. According both cheaters were arrests and then presented before respected Accountability Court Multan for their remand into NAB custody under NAO in order to take them to task. NAB has categorically said that none of its officer is involved in such like wrong doing and if anybody found involved strict action will be taken against the delinquent. The Honorable
