Islamabad: (Parliament Times) AJ&K Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has made his intention clear that as party President he would take part in the campaign of PML-N candidate in by-election of Poonch.
Talking to a delegation from Poonch that called on him under leadership of Haji Rasheed here on the other day, the Premier said that those who remained President and Prime Minister from Poonch deliberately kept it backward. The basic facilities in the rural areas is worst in Poonch that is a tourist destination, he added.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that if PML-N workers and supporters remained united like in Hajira elections, he has no doubt in his mind about victory of PML-N candidate in the by-polls in Poonch. He said his government was fully committed to the uplift of life of people of AJK adding that more funds would be earmarked in the next budget for reconditioning of link roads and highways that are necessary for promotion of tourism. He ensured better facilities of health and education in the snowy mountainous and far flung areas of the State. He questioned as to why such backwardness is witnessed despite the fact that Haji Yaqub and his daughter remained President, Prime Minister and Minister respectively from Poonch. He said he would personally campaign for Anwar despite biting chill in Poonch.
Acknowledging that Haji Rasheed had to sacrifice party ticket to Sardar Tahir Anwar, Mr. Haider assured that the former would also be accommodated in due course of time.
Rasheed, one of the PML-N candidates had to withdraw from contesting elections at the eleventh hours assured full support of Anwar in the upcoming election.
