ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that policy regarding Hajj 2019 will be devised in three months.
This was informed by Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, while responding to a question during Question Hour.
The Minister said the process for formulation of Hajj policy and Plan 2019 has been initiated. He said decision regarding Hajj dues to be collected per Haji will be taken after consultation with all the stakeholders including the designated airlines in due course of time and the House will be informed accordingly.
Responding to another question, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government are committed to develop Pakistan on the pattern of the State of Madina.
The Minister said dialogue among various religious communities of Pakistan is vital for interfaith harmony in the country. He said the government is planning to organize an international interfaith harmony conference next year.
Minister of State for Housing and Works Shabbir Ali informed the House that the government is committed to provide housing facilities to the people under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. He said initially this program has been launched in some districts of Pakistan as a pilot project, but it will be expanded to other districts in the next phase. He said expansion of scheme will be undertaken after due consultation.
Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda assured that concerns of Sindh regarding non-provision of water according to 1991 water accord will be addressed.
He said 58 percent water theft has been reported in Karachi and the issue will be addressed in consultation with the Sindh government. He said a third party neutral audit of water theft can also be arranged.
The Minister said that concerns of other provinces over water issue will also be addressed on priority basis.
