Mirpur, (AJK), (Parliament Times) : The first meeting of the fact-finding committee formed by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to investigate the protest demonstration in Mirpur on the night of March 29 and the attack on a private business center as a result of it was held by the Chairman Committee Most Senior Minister Colonel (R) Waqar Ahmed Noor.
The members of the committee in the meeting were Minister Mangla Dam Housing Authority and Minister Mangla Dam Affairs Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Minister Planning and Housing Ch. Yasir Sultan, Secretary Forests and Information Ansar Yaqoob, DIG Dr. Liaqat Ali, and Additional Secretary Home Ms. Soraya Khanum attended while Commissioner Ch. Shaukat Ali, DIG Mirpur Division Chaudhry Sajjad Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz and SSP Kamran Ali also attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the committee also reviewed the security arrangements made by the administration and the police to maintain law and order on the occasion of the unfortunate incident that took place in Mirpur during the protest on March 29 and directed those responsible for the incident.
The flaws in the security plan were also reviewed. The first session of the committee was held in the committee room of the commissioner’s office in the afternoon, in which information was obtained from every aspect of the incident, while the second session of the committee will be held again at 4 pm today, Monday, in which the stand of the magistrates will also be taken. The committee will prepare a detailed report on the actions taken on the incident and the gaps left in them.
