Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Syed Muhammad Sarim Gillani Senior student at LUMS

represented Pakistan at the World Youth Festival in Sochi, Russia. The festival had an attendance of 20,000+ participants from 188 countries.

Sarim led his team “UCITY” at the “Creating your own youth city” competition with 3000+ applicants and made it to the Top 50 finalists from around the world.

On a side note what makes it more special is that Sarim was among the youngest members of the 225-person delegation selected from Pakistan via the prime minister’s youth program He was the only one that made Pakistan win the most esteemed honor of “Hero of the festival” out of all the countries and 20,000+ participants.

Sarim was the “Hero of the Festival” and then was invited to deliver an appreciation speech on his experience at the official closing ceremony of the World Youth Festival. The other notable speaker at the closing ceremony included the President of Russia Mr. Vladmir Putin himself.
