Recently, during a youth awareness session at our university, I was startled to learn that approximately 48% of Pakistani youth abstain from casting their votes. This revelation underscores a critical issue that demands our attention and concerted efforts. First and foremost, participating in the democratic process through voting is a fundamental right and a powerful means for individuals to have their voices heard. By casting their ballots, young people can contribute to shaping the future of their country, playing an integral role in the decision-making that will impact their lives and those of future generations. Moreover, youth involvement in voting serves as a catalyst for positive change. When the younger demographic engages in the electoral process, it brings fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a dynamic energy that can rejuvenate the political landscape. The inclusion of diverse voices is essential for fostering a more inclusive and representative government. Furthermore, voting instills a sense of civic responsibility and a connection to the broader community. As young individuals actively participate in the electoral process, they become more aware of societal issues and are motivated to contribute to the betterment of their communities.
