Empowered women empower other women. Some handicapped women in low-income nations, such as Pakistan, worked hard, overcame obstacles, and achieved new levels of success, serving as role models for women with disabilities all over the world. Ayesha Shafqat, President of the Jannat Welfare Foundation, is one of these great role models. Her ability to turn disability into strength sets her apart. Ayesha started her organization barely two years ago. One of her most remarkable accomplishments is that she is the only handicapped woman who has been supporting other women with disabilities for the past 8 years without the help of any individual or group, for which she received the Pride of Pakistan Award and the UN Khadija Tul Kubra Award. Success comes to those who embrace challenges. Every successful person has a harrowing backstory. Ayesha is an excellent example of this. It’s encouraging to see how she overcame hurdles to become the lady she is today. “I was born with a handicap. Despite the fact that I was a disabled child, I aspired to be an educated woman who could help other people with disabilities. There was just one educational institution for disabled kids, and it was too far away from my house. I attended that school until I was in the 2nd class. Throughout my two years of schooling, I encountered a wide range of issues. Many times, despite spotting me, the school van driver would not stop, and I was unable to reach school. My parents decided that I would continue my education at home due to the lack of transportation and other required resources. I not only maintained my studies at home, but I also taught low-income pupils. After finishing my education, I began studying sewing and embroidery. After obtaining financial independence, I chose to pursue my dream of helping other women with disabilities by establishing my own non-profit organization, the Jannat Welfare Foundation,” stated Ayesha. Ayesha has grown to be one of Pakistan’s most inspirational non-profit leaders. Jannat Welfare Foundation has grown into one of Pakistan’s leading non-profit organizations under her prudent leadership. Her commitment to empowering women and children through the Jannat Welfare Foundation is highly commendable. “Through the Jannat Welfare Foundation, we have helped and empowered countless women and children. We donate wheelchairs, clutches, and dresses to women and children with disabilities. We provide sewing machines to orphan girls in order to help them achieve financial autonomy. My life mission is to help women with disabilities escape the difficulties I endured as a disabled woman,” explained Ayesha. Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to others. Ayesha’s success story is extremely motivating. She may serve as an inspiration for other ladies with disabilities on how to overcome obstacles and reach new levels of success. “Dear crippled sisters, Turn your disability into a strength. Don’t wait for someone to help and save you; be your own hero. Never wait for someone to give you the opportunity; create it for yourself. Never wait for someone to complete you; you are already whole. Waiting for others only delays your progress; take action now. Success is just a step away from you,” she advises. Service to man is service to God. It is one of the fundamental tenets of Islam to assist and serve others. Despite her disability, Ayesha’s passion to serve others in need is highly inspiring. Ayesha’s achievements are far too numerous to list here. She has earned various honours, including the 2023 Emerging Leader Award, the National Youth Peace Award, Pride of Pakistan, Train the Youth, the Pakistan Youth Icon Award, the Best Youth Activist Award, and the UN Khadija Tul Kubra Award. Ayesha has become a symbol of determination, tenacity, and bravery. She has undoubtedly established herself as a terrific role model as a result of her relentless efforts to assist women with disabilities.
