NEW YORK: Elizabeth Horst, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Pakistan has said US government will continue to support democracy in Pakistan but it does not support any specific person or party.

Addressing a seminar in New York she said credible election are included in support for democracy.

She held US will continue to support such credible election in Pakistan which are free from violence and they allow the people to decide who rules them.

She urged Pakistan to continue implement reforms proposed by IMF because it is the only way of solidifying its weak economy.

She clarified US troops pull out from Afghanistan gave opportunity to US to look at bilateral ties with Pakistan.

The important aspects like economic security and political situation have been encompassed in these relations.

Addressing the political aspect of this relationship she said US is supporter of democracy in Pakistan but it does not support any specific person or party.

We support people of Pakistan who has right to elect their next government, she said. Ambassador (Donald) Blome has delivered this message to all institutions and all parties, and I have delivered the same message.”
