ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said the recent incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in front of Iraqi embassy in Sweden has triggered outrage among Muslims all over the world.
In a tweet PM said the people of Pakistan are in deep pain and distress. The recurring pattern of these abominable and Satanic incidents has a sinister design to hurt the inter-faith relations, damage peace and harmony and promote religious hatred and Islamophobia, he added.
He called upon the governments particularly faith leaders to put an end to such abhorrent practices. Let us not allow the handful misguided and evil people to hurt the sentiments of billions of people. These elements should not be allowed to dictate their heinous agenda.
