Quetta, (Parliament Times) : Provincial Information Minister Mitha Khan Kakar said that immediate steps were being taken to develop the information and media sector in the province because there was a need to make the role of the information and media department more active and modernized in the development of the province. The media at the federal level had been asked to give full representation to the province. The provincial minister visited the offices of the Public Relations Department of Balochistan on Wednesday and reviewed the performance of the department. Officers of the department including secretary of information Hamza Shafqat, and Kamran Asad were present. The provincial minister said that the performance of the department was commendable, it will be further developed and its problems will be solved immediately. He said that the rights of the people of the province and the development process should be fully covered in this regard. Resource shortages will be avoided at all costs. He said that they had to accept the fact that a major problem in the backwardness of the province was not being publicized at the national level, nor had the media represented the rights of the people at all levels. He said that it was gratifying that the secretary and director general of the department are trained, experienced, and hardworking to use their skills and they and the provincial government will provide all possible support to the department so that it could be further developed. To develop, he emphasized that offices should be established in the districts of the province where there were no department offices, especially in Zhob, the office of the department should be started. For the approval of the issues, he will talk to the Chief Minister and the relevant authorities and take their approval. On this occasion, Information Secretary Hamza Shafaqat and Director General Kamran Asad informed the Provincial Minister about the details regarding the functioning of the department and said that a regular information cell had been established in the department and also in Sibi. A style cell has been set up and these two units will be inaugurated by the provincial information minister next month the district offices of the department had also been modernized. Apart from this, a regular publicity campaign is conducted regarding the development process and rights of the province, while the news was also provided to the media daily, and also in the pleasant relationship between the government department and the media. On this occasion, the provincial minister directed the officer to attend these operations regularly and said that he will regularly monitor the attendance of the staff. In publicity, the officers of the department praised their performance of them and their staff.
