Quetta,  (Parliament Times) : An important meeting of Provincial Census Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Additional Chief Secretary Interior, Senior Member Board of Revenue,Secretary S&GADC, Secretary Local Government,Secretary Education,IG Police, Divisional Commissioners, DC Quetta, Chief Census Commissioner Islamabad and Provincial Census Commissioner Balochistan participated in the meeting. Provincial Census Commissioner Noor Ahmed Perkani briefed the committee and presented his progress, saying that 35 census centers had been established in the province and 7167 enumerators.

The training of 995 supervisory staff has been completed and now the required 8137 devices have been delivered to the districts and the phase of distribution to enumerators will start from February 16.

Chief Secretary Balochistan directed that meetings of district census coordination committees and divisional committees will be held on February 14 and finalization of all matters so that digital census 2023 would be completed successfully.

The Chief Census Commissioner told the committee that the self-enumeration phase will take place from February 20 to March 3 and people will go to the portal to enumerate their houses and later enumeratethe fieldwork will be started which will be completed in the first week of April.

Committee members said that vigilance committees could function properly and ensure correct data recording during the census.

The additional Secretary of Home, IG Police, and other concerned officials were also briefed about the security arrangements for the census.

Chief Secretary Balochistan instructed Provincial Census Commissioner and Divisional Commissioners to improve coordination at all levels and ensure monitoring and communication through the dashboard.

The next meeting of the Provincial Census Coordination Committee will be held on February 16.
