Islamabad,   (Parliament Times) : Senior APHC leader Altaf Hussain Wani has appealed to Kashmiris on both sides of the line of control to observe 5th August as a day of exploitation (Youm-i-Istehsal) to register their protest against Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government’s illegal action taken on that day in 2019.

Terming India’s 5th August 2019 move as an atrocious assault on the geographical integrity and identity of the Indian occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir, Wani said that apartheid regime in brazen violation of the United Nations resolutions and international law stripped the region of its special status and subjected the disputed territory to a crippling siege and communication blockade that lasted for more than 1 and half year.

Urging the international community to take effective notice of the matter, he said that day marks the beginning of India’s settler colonialism in Kashmir. Since then, he said that India has been hectically engaged in hatching conspiracies to change the region’s demographic complexion. Redefinition of the region’s domicile law and changing the electoral map of the state, he said, were part of the racist regime’s grand plan to bring material change in the region.

He said that it was high time that the international community should hold the Indian government accountable for violating the UNSC resolutions and other international treaties that strictly bar an occupying state from changing the status of a disputed territory unilaterally.
