Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : The unexpected results of Rawalpindi PP-7 and the defeat of PTI’s candidate Colo (R) Shabbir Awan by 49 votes was a shock to the leadership of PTI. On the other hand, a decision will be taken today whether Shabbir Awan’s recount request is acceptable or not. It is said that Zaheer ul Islam’s speech in support of PTI may have led to Shabbir Awan’s defeat. According to reliable sources, at 12:30 in the morning of the election, when the PTI candidates were in the RO office to collect the results and were filing the application for the recount, after the arrival of some people in the RO office, all the staff were taken out.

And then the victory of PML-N candidate Raja Saghir was announced with 49 votes. In the by-elections, when PTI won the most difficult seats in Punjab. Defeat from PP7 is hard to digest. Raja Saghir’s change of loyalty, opposition to a faction of the PML-N and getting 68906 votes despite problems such as inflation are considered to be his personal success. It is also worth noting that 1500 votes were rejected from this constituency, which is also being challenged by PTI.
