Sahiwal, (Bureau Report) : A delegation of farmers’ representatives called on Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Owais Malik at Montgomery Hall. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Asim Saleem and ADC General Noman Afzal were also present on the occasion. The farmers’ representatives apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the problems and he assured the delegation that the problems faced by the farmers would be resolved immediately. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Owais Malik directed Exxon Irrigation to release water in 5L rajabahas till evening immediately after hearing the complaints of farmers regarding closure of canal water. On this occasion, the farmers demanded that the transfer of Axin LBDC Omar, who was recently transferred, be canceled, on which the Deputy Commissioner assured the delegation that he would talk to the Secretary Irrigation in this regard. He also thanked the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Owais for the speedy resolution and hoped that he would continue his efforts for the betterment of the farmers.
