Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) hosted a landmark event at Jinnah Auditorium, FUSH, to observe World Health Day 2024. The event, under the banner “My Health, My Right,” brought together prominent figures such as Rector FUI Maj Gen Muhammad Kaleem Asif HI(M), (Retd) and Director Dr. Shumaila Humayun, alongside Prof Dr. Naila Azam, to spearhead discussions on pressing health issues.

The day was marked by insightful dialogues on gender-based violence, nutrition rights, and environmental conservation, featuring contributions from UNFPA’s Dr. Rasheed Ahmad, FAO’s Florence Rolle, and Brig Khalid Afridi of the Army Heritage Foundation. The esteemed presence of WHO Country Rep Dr. Luo Dapeng as Chief Guest accentuated the day’s importance.

Preceding the main event, FUI had organized a series of community health education drives, departmental initiatives, and a free medical camp from April 15 to April 23, reaffirming its dedication to enhancing community health and wellbeing. In the end, Director (FUSH) Maj General Imran Fazal, HI(M), (Retd) presented souvenir to the Rector FUI.
