Islamabad,  (Parliament Times) : Regional president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and senior minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that the infrastructure of AJK will be built on lines of Sustainable Development Goals so that people of AJK could live a prosperous life through economic, social and technological advancement. He expressed these views while talking to Minister for Local Government AJK, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed at his residence.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest in detail.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said that model rural infrastructure would be set up in remote areas with micro-strategies to achieve the short-term and long-term goals of sustainable development goals including poverty and hunger reduction, provision of quality education, gender equality, clean water, better employment opportunities and elimination of infrastructure inequality.

He further stated that the developing countries including Pakistan were facing serious problems like low rates of education, poor health facilities, inequality and climate change. “By 2030, we must ensure that all men and women in the country have equal access to education, health and a prosperous life,” he said.

He also said that in all development projects of AJK, the principle of sustainable development would be taken into consideration so that infrastructure and economic development could be achieved in parallel with the preservation of the environment and nature
