Muzaffarabad/MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) : President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has urged the PTI activists to participate in the upcoming Kashmir rally in Islamabad to express complete solidarity with their brethren in the occupied Kashmir.

The AJK president expressed these views while addressing a meeting of leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Kashmir at Aiwan-e-Sadr Muzaffarabad here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by a large number of activists and senior leaders of the party. Speaking on the occasion, the President while highlighting the significance of the rally said that the decision to organise solidarity rally on 24 February in Islamabad was taken after holding consultations with the leadership of all parties who attended All Party Conference last month in the federal capital-Islamabad. He said that during the APC many important decisions were taken to promote the Kashmir issue and expose Indian brutalities in IoK at international level.

The rally, he said, would start from National Press Club Islamabad and end at D-chowk where participants of the rally would be addressed by leaders across the political spectrum. Reiterating his commitment to the cause of Kashmir, the president said that he would continue to raise his voice for the hapless Kashmiris living on the other side of the bloody line (LoC). He was of the view that the Kashmir issue had entered into a critical phase after India unilaterally revoked article 370 and 35A of the Indian constitution had guaranteed special status to the occupied territory.
Given the precarious situation in the Indian occupied territory, he said that it was high time the leadership on this side of the LoC should redouble its efforts to expose India’s nefarious designs aimed at changing the demography of the troubled region.

Hailing party workers’ contribution, Barrister Sultan said, “Workers are a real asset of our party who played a significant role in the formation of the government in the region”.
