RAWALPINDI,   (Parliament Times):  The President of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association Aftab Nagra has said that the advancement in science and technology has opened new doors for the stabilization of economies coupled with certain opportunities of reducing poverty and un-employment. Those countries of the world that have entered or are entering these new gates by equipping their manpower with marketable latest skills have secured their economic stability.

He said this while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of “Trained Expert Professional” project launched jointly by Inter-University Consortium and Knight Human Management (KHM), Shalaan GL Pakistan. Under this project, KHM shall introduce and impart technical skills much demanded by International job market to the students of 58 government and 100 private member universities of the consortium across the country. CEO of KHM Khalid Nawaz, Vice Chancellor Sargodha University and Pro Vice Chancellor of University of the Punjab Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Inter Board Committee Chairman Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Principal of College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Punjab University, Dr. Sajid Rasheed Ahmed, M. Arshad Mann, Arshad Abdullah, Majid Bashir, Mehdi Hassan and senior administrative and academic officers of government and non-government universities besides a large number of students were present on the occasion

“We are in dire need to abundantly open these doors for the youth in our country on emergent basis”, he added. He said that the “Trained Expert Professional” project was an important and highly commendable step in this direction for that the initiators deserved congratulations.

The other speakers said that along with the facilities of higher degree education, our universities and higher educational institutions should come forward to shoulder their responsibilities with regard to offer the training facilities of latest marketable technical skills to our youth just like the “Trained Expert Professional” project. “This would make our youth to be the skillful manpower which is needed in global job market. “Our universities must now become the producers of skilled and valuable workforce instead of creating merely educated persons who swell the un-employment ratio”, they mentioned adding more that the government authorities must work on it.

CEO of KHM Khalid Nawaz said that we have today laid down the foundation of promoting technical skills at a large scale which would help us reduce poverty and unemployment as well as to strengthen the national economy. Khalid Nawaz further said that we are providing facilities to the youth to impart marketable skills in industry and commerce, media, modern IT and other fields of services including taxation. “The Trend Expert Professional project is an attempt to expand the scope of these facilities to universities across the country, which, insha’Allah, will yield the desired results through the joint efforts of all of us”, he added.

Prior to the opening ceremony, the students were also briefed on the opportunities to acquire professional education and technical skills at 750 International universities on full and partial scholarships at the Student Fair which was much appreciated by the students.
