Islamabad ,(Parliament Times) : Altaf Ahmed Bhat President, CBR Employees Cooperative Housing Society, termed the recent addition of CBR Town Phase II to the list of illegal housing schemes by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) as a completely irresponsible act, wrong and baseless decision.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat has expressed regret over the inclusion of CBR Town Phase II which is following the law and following government directives, in the list of fake schemes by the RDA and demanded Chairman RDA and Director-General RDA to refute his press statement and correct his record. President CBRECHS Bhat stated this while talking to various journalists and clarified to Rawalpindi Development that this wrong move caused unrest among our registered members.
The President of the Society has strongly urged the Chairman and the Director-General (RDA) to take stern disciplinary action against their subordinates for such misconduct so that they do not do it again. He clarified that the society through its lawyer has given the notice to file a case of 22A, However, following this notice, the RDA has illegally de-sealed the Society’s Site Offices.
He said that CBR Housing Society Phase-II not only has NOC of Rawalpindi Development Authority but also a Joint Approved MOU for construction of the RDA Vista Scheme, Which has been practised unilaterally by the society till date.
The President of the Society has urged the RDA to implement the agreement so that the parties to the said agreement prove to be lasting. He further stated that the CBR Housing Society has a unique NOC and Agreement (MOU) with Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) from all other societies.
The President of the Society said that such a press statement in the spirit of the points of the basic and agreed agreement is evidence of irresponsible behaviour of the RDA spokesperson and falls into the category of malice. CBR Town Phase II Blocks A, B, C, D, E, (A, B, C, D, E) are duly approved by RDA and are ready to build houses. while Block G, H, I, J, Prime Block, Executive Block, Abu Bakar Block, Umar Block, Usman Block, Ali Block
Legal documents required for approval along with all maps (LOP) have been submitted to RDA for some time and The departmental process of RDA approval is underway.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that CBR Town is a unique and reputable name in the housing schemes of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Therefore, the RDA should also carefully issue a statement and should check with its staff about the legal status of the project and related documents before compiling such lists. Altaf Ahmed Bhat has demanded the RDA to rectify the list based on this error and issue a rebuttal statement and a rebuttal list, if it is delayed we will take legal action against RDA Staff under 22A. Altaf Ahmed Bhat has appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to provide protection to all the cooperative housing societies that provide plots and houses to government employees and other needy people by abiding by the law and helping the government.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat while conveying his message to PM Imran Khan said that giving Shelter, houses and plots is the main responsibility of the Government, while cooperative housing societies are taking this responsibility and helping the government. So instead of encouraging its management, the institutions obstruct it, which leads to frustration among the housing societies. Altaf Ahmed Bhat appealed to the Prime Minister that if the government wants to fulfil the dream of five million affordable houses, then govt must guide and support cooperative housing societies so that Govt’s plan of 5 million cheap and affordable houses for the masses could be a success story.
