Islamabad,    (Parliament Times) :   Chairman Standing Committee on Education and Vocational Training, Senator Irfan Siddiqui expressed his concerns that the Federal Ministry has kept opened the educational institutions of Islamabad from 1st of July ignoring the clear and unanimous recommendations of the committee.

It may be recalled that the Standing Committee in its last meeting had recommended to the ministry that educational institutions of the capital be closed on the analogy of Punjab Government from 1st of July till 1st of August, due to extreme heat, load shedding and difficulties faced by parents.

The Education Secretary present at the meeting also assured that the recommendations of the committee in this regard would be complied with. But ignoring these recommendations, the institutions have been kept opened.

In a letter written to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Secretary Committee expressed Chairman Committee’s concerns that ignoring the unanimous Recommendations of the Committee, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training did not even consider it appropriate to inform the Committee as to the reasons why their recommendation was not implemented.

Chairman Committee Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that this move of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training tantamounts to insulting the unanimous recommendations of the committee which is very unfortunate. This has been taken seriously and the matter will be further discussed at the next meeting of the Standing Committee.
