LAHORE:     5112 people tested positive while 131 lost their lives due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the country on Friday.

The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) latest statistics said the nationwide death toll has soared to ,17811 while overall positive cases have touched the mark of 820823.

3,272 patients recovered from the dread virus,steering the total number of recovered patients to 711,465.
NCOC asked the authorities concerned to issue comprehensive SOPs for Youm-e-Ali, Itekaf, Shab-e-Qadar, Jumma-tul-Wida and Namaz-e-Eid before 1st May. There will be complete ban on tourism for both locals and outsiders.

As per official portal, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Sindh has reached 282,445, while 4,633 people have died so far while the total number of coronavirus patients in Punjab is 301,114 and 8,410 people have died from the virus. The total in Balochistan has reached 22,278, with a death toll of 234.
117,557 people have been infected with the coronavirus in KP and 3,274 people have lost their lives to it. In Azad Kashmir, 17,057 people have been infected with the virus and 475 people have died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 5,305 coronavirus patients have been reported so far and 106 deaths. The total number of COVID-19 patients in the federal capital Islamabad is 75,067 and so far 679 patients have died.
As many as 49,099 coronavirus tests were in the last 24 hours, out of which 5,112 people tested positive. . The positivity rate stands at 10.41%.
