ISLAMABAD:    Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong have planted a “Friendship Tree” at the Chinese Embassy compound in Islamabad to commemorate 70th anniversary of establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.
Plantation of the evergreen Deodar tree, which is also the national tree of Pakistan, depicts the spirit of Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The 70th anniversary celebrations of establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations were jointly initiated by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi last month.
