The Jamaat-i-Islami on Sunday managed a big shot rally to the Governor House, Karachi and tried it’s hand to forewarn Sindh Government against a sit-in outside the CM House. An apoplectic Islamic Political Party activists enforced a daylong strike amid the tough situation currently happening due to the third wave of Covid-19. Holding a power show, carrying placards, party flags, huge number of cars, bikes, buses and vans, crowd including women and children brought with them, prove that the provincial government has badly failed to ensure safety of people in this traumatic condition. The JI’s slogan ‘Haq Do Karachi Ko’ (Give Right To Karachi) and presentation of a 17-point charter of demand maintained that despite possessing 13 years governing rule in Sindh, the PPP has not overlooked the sorry affairs of the city. Karachi encountered with several issues since decades; Water shortage, Prolonged electricity breakdown, lack and damaged busses for the civilians, lack of cleanliness administration as well as political instability. Day after day, in Karachi, such kinds of small and long marches occur. A girl in a newspaper complained the same apropos that Karachi University has severe insufficiency of buses as overcrowd of the students travel due to the insufficient sources and ignoring the threat of Covid-19. Also, the matter of Job Quota System for the residents of Karachi seems problematic. Yes. the protesters demand to the government are righteous. But, the question here arises that who will resolve the decades-long Injustices? Karachi is the part of Sindh. It is the capital of Sindh. But, who will realize that the capitals are not standing in the position as like Karachi has stood up till now? Not only it shares 70% to the national economy, but also supports different political agendas of the concerned political parties. Also, the rumors spread previously that if not overtaking the responsibility of Karachi, it can be estimated that Karachi will be the next ‘East Pakistan’.
