LAHORE:   A delegation comprising students of various educational institutions led by PTI’s member of Assembly Uzma Kaardar called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar.

Talking on the occasion, Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, said that those involved in the crime of early marriage of girls do not deserve any mercy, adding that strict action will be taken against them according to the law. Compromise on the rule of law is out of the question. The government is ensuring transparency and meritocracy in educational institutions.

According to details, during the meeting between Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and a delegation led by Uzma Kardar, a female MPA of Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf at Governor’s House Lahore, Nawal Haider gave a briefing to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar about children’s rights . Others present on the occasion included Laiba Salman, Abar Rehmat, Sireen Saif, Atiya Asim, Mehka Gul, Anam Azhar and Sameer Haider.

Talking to the delegation, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that in every field including education, daughters of the nation are ahead of boys. The PTI government has launched various programs to bring innovation to the field of education, adding that the Vice-Chancellors of universities have been appointed on merit because appointments through nepotism only result in the destruction of the education system.

Talking about women’s rights, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the Constitution of Pakistan is the guarantor of women’s rights. Women must be empowered to make society civilized and progressive. Enforcement of Women’s Property Rights will help in ensuring the inheritance rights of women. He said that Islam has given due rights to women.

During the meeting, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar expressed concern over the increase in Corona cases and said that the new wave of Corona is more dangerous and we need to combat it together. He further said that we must abide by the SOPs because negligence in this regard will aggravate Coronavirus resurgence.
