Founded in 1967 by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto during the reign of General Ayub Khan, with the slogan “bread, cloth and house”, the ideology of democratic socialism, Pakistan People’s Party, aimed at to establish an equal society and to abolish the feudal system in order to ‘protect the peasants and their interests’. In the very first term of the PPP government, the ‘Constitution of Pakistan’ was passed in 1973. It has beared enormous sacrifices as in 1978, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was hanged for the murder of one of his comrades.
Apart from the rule of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, many corruption scandals came to light in all the PPP regimes. For example, during both Benazir Bhutto’s governments, she and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, were accused of corruption, first by Ghulam Ishaq Khan in 1990 and then by Farooq Leghari in 1996. In connection with the anti-government movement of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), PPP has announced a long march and will arrive in Islamabad, led by senior PPP leaders.

aims to send the PTI government home, but it does not appear to be pursuing a single strategy to achieve that goal. On the other hand, the government does not seem to be bothered by the changing strategy of the PDM. The ever-changing strategy is not a threat to the government, But the journalists believe that if the opposition comes prepared with a no-confidence motion, it could put more pressure on the government than the long march.
