SHIKARPUR: A Ceremony was held to distribute the wheelchairs and sticks amongst the challenged persons while kits and bags were also distributed amongst the volunteers of Red Crescent Society Shikarpur.
Addressing the Ceremony, the Chairman Red Crescent Society Shikarpur, Agha Munir Khan, said that volunteers of Red Crescent Society will help to supply potable water in primary and secondary schools and also take part in plantation plants in Shikarpur while he further said that Red Crescent is working in 193 countries and providing valuable service to the society to help out on the grounds of humanitarian basis.
Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Kashif Nabi Khuhro, addressing the ceremony said that Red Crescent volunteers help people in difficult times he further said that keeping an eye over the hardships on differently-abled persons a one-window operation booth will be established in the Red Crescent Building in Shikarpur for the Registration of differently abled persons, twice in one month adding citizen of Shikarpur should own the health and educational institutes and play their role to help out the district administration and held the administration accountable.
The Principal, C & S Degree College Shikarpur, Muhammad Afzal Shaikh said that a few personalities have started charity work and established health and educational institution for needy and deserving people. He said that the law and order situation is becoming worse and snatching of bikes and incidents of theft have increased in Shikarpur but no recovery of robberies and no arrest of culprits have been made which he termed alarming conditions in Shikarpur.
Shahab Khan Bhayo, Apa Safia Abbasi, ASP Fazil Shah Bukhari and others also addressed the ceremony and expressed their views.
In last, an awareness walk was also taken out by volunteers of Red Crescent Society from Jahaz Chowk up to Press Club Shikarpur.
The volunteers raised slogans of Red Crescent Society and also raised placards inscribed with slogans.
