Says it’s time for people to elect representatives capable of changing destiny of the state
ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times): Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab and senior PTI leader Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that there was a dire need to strengthen the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf in the AJK as the dream of change in the region was not possible without strengthening the party.
While talking to reporters after meeting PTI Azad Kashmir office bearers Khan said, “In order to bring a change we should all work together to strengthen PTI and form a government in Azad Kashmir”. He said that the liberated territory would become a self-sufficient state by developing tourism, agriculture and hydropower in line with the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision. He said that previous governments had failed to take steps for the welfare of the people in the region. “Imran Khan is a ray of hope who liberated Pakistan from mafia politics and now it is the turn of Kashmir”, he said adding that 70 years have passed and the people of Azad Kashmir were still deprived of basic amenities like roads, health and water. He termed regionalism and community based politics as the biggest obstacle to development of the region.
Among those who called on Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan on Friday were Sports and Culture PTI Azad Kashmir Omar Shehzad (President), Sadaqat Hayat (Secretary General), Nawazatial (Deputy General Secretary). Secretary Good Governance Chaudhry Abbas Raza, Zunisha Khan (Deputy General Secretary) of Sports and Cultural Wing Poonch Division (Tabriz Kazmi) (Information Secretary), Aafia Maroof Abbasi (Secretary) Finance (Traders Wing) PTI Azad Kashmir’s Shiraz Khan (Senior Vice President) Sardar Amjad Advocate (General Secretary District Sadhnauti) Sardar Shakeel (Former General Secretary District Sadhnauti) Former President ISF Jabbar Mughal-Amir Hamza Khan-Women Wing PTI Azad Kashmir Professor Taqdis Giani (President) Dr. Nazia Niaz (Additional Secretary General) Asiya Rafique Advocate (Vice President) were present.
He said that aid funds came to Azad Kashmir from all over the world due to which some of the infrastructure was developed in the region. “Even today, massive foreign investments can be made by attracting the world investors towards the massive investment opportunities in the region including construction of world class hotels and guest houses”, he said adding that repairing road infrastructure in the region was also important to promote tourism in Azad Kashmir.
“The people of Azad Kashmir have the best opportunity to elect representatives who are capable of changing the destiny of the state”, he added.
