Azad Kashmir: Sardar Tanveer Ilyas becomes the most popular political figure on social media. Mushtaq Minhas comes second and Raja Farooq Haider in number.
ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times): Elections are scheduled to be held in Azad Kashmir in the next few months. All the political parties have been intensifying their political activities to get votes from the people. Whereas, political parties and candidates are busy in meetings, conventions and corner meetings in every constituency. All political parties are also using social media as an effective tool to shape public opinion. The PML-N, PPP, PTI, and Muslim Conference have also organized social media conventions in their parties including introducing social media wings and appointing officials. A survey by the Life Support and Development Foundation (LSDF) has been launched on social media to raise awareness against the popularity of key figures of political parties contesting the Azad Kashmir elections. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, who is given the responsibility by Prime Minister Imran Khan a few months ago to play a role in Azad Kashmir politics, has 635,600 followers on social media. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas triumphs over along with the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Barrister Sultan Mahmood, Mushtaq Minhas, including all the politicians of Azad Kashmir who also own thousands followers. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has 577,000 followers on his Facebook page, 8,000 on Instagram and 57,600 followers on Twitter. He has 65,410 followers, 397,000 followers on Twitter and 43,000 followers and Mushtaq Minhas’ Facebook ID has 25,000 followers on his official Facebook page. His popularity on social media is number two. The number of followers of Azad Kashmir Prime Minister and PML-N President Raja Farooq Haider Khan is 222,000 on two different Facebook accounts, 40,400 followers on Twitter. His total number of followers is 242,400 and is the third most popular on social media. PTI Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has four different Facebook accounts on social media which are followed by 222,000 people. Barrister Sultan Mehmood is followed by 347 people on Twitter and is number four. Similarly, Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, Supreme Head of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, is followed by 13,500 people on social media, 97,000 people are following him on the official Facebook page, 5,000 people are following Sardar Atiq Khan on Twitter. His number is five. Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party chief Nabila Irshad Advocate has 32,000 followers on social media and more than 800 followers on Twitter, ranking sixth. About 16,800 people are following Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Latif Akbar on social media. 791 people Chaudhry Latif Akbar on Twitter and his number is seventh. Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Ameer Dr. Khalid Mahmood has 11,800 followers on social media, 9,600 followers on Facebook and 2,800 followers on Twitter and is ranked eighth. Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party chief Sardar Hassan Ibrahim Khan is being followed by 8,200 people on social media while 109 people are following him on his Twitter account and his number is ninth.
