Islamabad (Parliament Times) : Baluchistan has huge economic potential in terms of agriculture as it is not only a largest province by area but also an epicenter of various cash crops. However, dry climate and water scarcity are  some major issues, hampering farmers in obtaining higher outputs of their crops. To strengthen the agricultural research and development in Baluchistan, a delegation from Directorate General of Agriculture Research, Baluchistan headed by Director General, Mr. Jumma Khan Tareen, visited PARC-AZRI, Umerkot on November 4, 2020. They were duly received by Director General PARC-SARC, Dr. Attaullah Khan, along with other high officials.The delegation was escorted to agricultural products and literature produced by Arid Zone Research Institute (AZRI), which included different lines and varieties of peanut, chilies, guar, mustard, castor bean, moringa powder. To expand the research output of PARC and help establishing agricultural potentials in Baluchistan DG SARC further shared different models and concepts of arid and saline agriculture. Models related to kitchen gardening, vertical gardening, drip irrigation system, pitcher irrigation system and saline water purification system were the main focus of the interest. At this moment Mr. Jumma Khan Tareen lauded the efforts of AZRI agricultural scientists and extended gratitude to Dr. Attaullah Khan for the gifts of Moringa plants (miracle tree) with books on production technology and its uses.
