Rawalpindi,   (Parliament Times): Punjab Council of the Arts organized a special lecture with title of “Fikr Iqbal aur Ahad-e-Haazir” to mark birthday anniversary of the poet of east Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The lecture was presided over by famous columnist, intellectual and Chairman Jinnah Iqbal
Thinker Forum Rana Abdul Baqi. Senior poet and intellectual Naeem Akram Qureshi
participated in lecture as special guest.
Deputy Director Sajjad Hussain anchored the event. Maryam Rana started the seminar with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat. While addressing the seminar Rana Abdul Baqi said, ‘’To make rapid progress, Pakistan needs to follow the principles of Allama Iqbal. The problems that Pakistan is facing today, Allama Iqbal has given the answer to all these a hundred years ago’’.
He added that Allama Iqbal urged the entire nation of Islam to unite. Naeem Akram Qureshi said that Iqbal gave the world a new sense of thinking, where soul met with mind. ‘’Iqbal’s poetry today is taught in the whole world. Iqbal gave a new philosophy of life to the Muslims of the subcontinent. In his Allahabad sermon, Allama Iqbal made it clear to the Muslims that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together, the solution to the problems of the Muslims of the subcontinent is in a separate independent state;;, he further said. The seminar was attended by many people from various walks of life.
