RAWALPINDI, (Parliament Times) : Former President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Haji Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan has said that the establishment of the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was not just a coincidence but Kashmiris had made a historic struggle and sacrifices for it.
In a statement issued here on Friday Khan said, “Freedom is a great blessing given by God Almighty for which the people of the liberated territory laid many sacrifices”.
Expressing his serious concerns over the current situation in Occupied Kashmir, he said that the dire political and human rights situation in the region required a complete national unity. He however observed that despite using all available means of oppression India has miserably failed to subdue the spirit of freedom among the Kashmiri people a.
He warned India to stop day dreaming of occupying Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. “Descendants of those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan know fully well as how to protect their land and freedom”, he said.
