Karachi:  (Parliament Times)  (PR)   Suleman Chawla, President SITE Association of Industry, has demanded the government to direct SSGC to provide gas to general industries with required pressure to continue industrial production without disruption.

In a statement, SITE President protested over zero gas pressure in SITE area since Monday (14/9) and said that due to zero gas pressure, it is not possible to run industry. Industrial production has come to a halt and shipping export orders on time is also not possible.

Expressing dismay over the prevailing situation, SITE President said that one-day gas pressure is zero and the next day, there is no electricity. How can we run industries in the absence of power & gas? The government must facilitate industries to promote industrial activities in the country which is the only way leading to economic development and prosperity.

Mr. Chawla has demanded the government to accord first priority to industries and ensure provision of power, gas and water in required quantities to the industrial sector. This will boost industrial activities in the country and generate more avenues for employment.

“The government should give clear instruction to SSGC to ensure gas supply to industries with required pressure”, he added.
