ISLAMABAD:   Islamabad High Court (IHC) while reserving the judgment on the petition filed against the illegal occupation of state land in National Park Area has banned allowing constructions on state land.

IHC single bench led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani took up the petition for hearing Thursday.

Senator Aurangzeb Orakzai, Mayor Islamabad Ansar Aziz and others appeared in the court.

Senator Aurangzeb Orakzai told the court party leaders have got constructed the boundary wall of home of Prime Minister (PM).

The court inquired “don’t bring PM in the matter of occupation of state land. Getting the state land occupied is misconduct on the part of mayor and chairman CDA. Occupation of state land leads to framing reference against Senator Aurangzeb Orakzai and Mayor Islamabad. We will issue detailed verdict on the matter of occupation of state land.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani inquired from Senator Aurangzeb Orakzai why he erected fencing for occupying state land.

Senator Aurangzeb Orakzai said party leaders got erected fencing in the house of PM Imran Khan by incurring its expenses.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani remarked “ you should not bring PM in the case of illegal occupation of state land.

Mayor Ansar Aziz said we allowed to plant saplings on state land rather than raising constructions. If court orders we can remove the fencing erected on state land.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked it is your responsibility to safeguard state land which has not been fulfilled. No one is there in Islamabad to protect state land. During the lock down of corona virus the highest number of incident of occupation of state land occurred in Islamabad.

Director environment said “we allowed to plant saplings on 10 to 15 acres land. If fencing has been erected in more areas then it is encroachment.

The court remarked “ you don’t know permission was given to occupy how much state land.
CDA representative said all the powers lie with metropolitan corporation and ministry of climate change in National Park Area.

The court remarked CDA, metropolitan corporation all together did gross injustice with Islamabad.

The court reserved the judgment after hearing the arguments.
