Announces to write a letter to Info. Minister Shibli Sarfraz calling a high level probe into the episode:
ISLAMABAD,(Parliament Times): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan Monday regretted the alleged targeting of Kashmiri newspapers including some Islamabad-based regional dailies of the State. The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to the allegedly affected Editor of a State Daily Sada-e-Chinar Ejaz Abbasi and Sardar Zahid Tabassum, President All Kashmir Newspapers Society(AKNS) to discuss the issue.
The AJK PM said that the AJK government has decided to write a letter to the concerned higher authorities of the government of Pakistan to take notice of the incident of alleged manhandling of senior Kashmiri journalist by a PID official. PM AJK Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that the alleged tragic incident of manhandling of Ejaz Abbasi by a government official was very regrettable which had been strongly condemned by the government and all political parties of Azad Jammu Kashmir and the civil society.
The AJK Prime Minister said that Information of Pakistan Minister Shibli Faraz will be informed of the grave concerns prevailing among the AJK people and and the journalistic community of the state through a letter with call for early holding of a high level into the incident, he added. Raja Farooq Haider assured Sardar Zahid Tabassum and Ejaz Abbasi that the letter by the State government to the Government of Pakistan would urge for immedaite due allocation of special quota of the government advertisement by the PID Pakistan for the state newspapers appearing from AJK as well as from various parts of the country including Islamabad.
