MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) Pakistan independence day was celebrated throughout Azad Kashmir on Friday with full national enthusiasm.
Functions and seminars were held all over the state to mark the independence day of Pakistan. The speakers on this occasion reaffirmed their pledge to continue the struggle till the logical conclusion of current liberation struggle of Occupied Kashmir and entire state accession to Pakistan.
The main function was held at President House Muzaffarabad, where the Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan,The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, Deputy Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, High ranking government officials and large number of people attended the function.
Siren was sounded and one minute silence was observed on the occasion. Later the President and the Prime Minister jointly hoisted the National Flag .
Speaking on the occasion the Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan said that Pakistan came into being with the unprecedented sacrifices of martyrs and untiring struggle of Father of the Nation Quaid -e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that the Father of the Nation envisioned the dream for the separate homeland of the Muslims of the subcontinent and this dream was realized within the 10 years and Pakistan was established on democratic bases. He paid rich tributes to all those who laid down their lives while defending the territory as well as the ideological frontiers of the mother land. He said politically and economically strong and stable Pakistan is the greater guarantee for the liberation of Occupied Kashmir. The movement for the completion of Pakistan had been continuing in full force in Occupied Kashmir and day is not for off when this struggle will culminate with success, Quaid-e-Azam was profoundly grieved by the suffering of the people of Kashmir, he added.
The Prime Minister said, people of Kashmir had been offering unprecedented sacrifices for the completion of Pakistan and they will continue to shed their blood for the protection and mother land.
He said India is bent upon to distort the religious and cultural traditions of people of occupied Kashmir to fulfill its nefarious goals., He underlined the need to follow the golden principle of father of the Nation which is the only way to make Pakistan a strong and stable.
