Brussels (PR): Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has said, the day of accession to Pakistan (19 July 1947) is an historically important day of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is important to mention that Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world observed the Accession to Pakistan Day on 19 July every year. It was 19th July in 1947, genuine representatives of the Kashmiris unanimously passed the resolution of Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan during a meeting of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar.

In a statement Ali Raza Syed said, the historic resolution of accession of the State of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan was based on Kashmiris’ relations with Pakistan on religious, geographical, cultural and economic grounds.

He said, Kashmiris declared their accession to Pakistan a month before the independence of Pakistan and then ruler of Jammu and Kashmir dishonestly announced his accord to India and India illegally captured a large part of Jammu and Kashmir. India started brutal acts against the Kashmiris from the day first of its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir

Kashmiris were able to liberate a part of their land which is being called Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). It was India which brought the issue of Kashmir to the United Nation (UN) and promised with the people of Kashmir their right to self determination but did not fulfill this promise so far. India even revoked special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August last and started lock down in Jammu and Kashmir by seizing the basic rights of citizens of the disputed region. Today, India also presses the people of Kashmir under garb of coronavirus.

Chairman KC-EU said, Kashmiris cannot withdraw their right of self determination. As for accession to Pakistan as they celebrate this day every year, which proved their strong relation with Pakistan.

Kashmiris are still struggling for their right to self determination but India takes brutal actions against them, even women, children and elders are not safe from the India atrocities. Many of the innocent people of Kashmir have killed in extra judicial acts committed by the Indian occupation forces and a large number of them are in the Indian prisons without any charges.

Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed urged United Nation to use its good offices for implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir issue and specially the International community should play its role for ending atrocities against the Kashmiris and help in peaceful and just resolution of Kashmir issue.
