MIRPUR, (Parliament Times): Kashmir Martyrs Day, a main icon in history of Kashmir freedom movement as day of advent of the freedom struggle, will be observed throughout the liberated territory of AJK and Pakistan on Monday – July 13 to pay homage to 22 Kashmiris who had embraced ‘Shahadat’ this day 79 years ago13th of July, 1931 to get the motherland freed from the brutalities of despotic Dogra rule. Function and Seminar will be held throughout Azad Jammu Kashmir to pay glowing tributes to martyrs of 13th July, 1931, AJK government announced Saturday evening. In this connection a Special function will be held at the AJK Prime Minister house in AJK State’s metropolis on Monday with the AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan in the chair to pay glorious tributes to 22 martyrs of 1931 who laid down their lives against the forces Indian occupation and the atrocities of Dogra rulers.
A smartly uniformed contingent of AJK Police will present salute to the Shuhadda as a mark of respect. Meanwhile talking to the Media in AJK’s metropolis on Saturday the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs in fact is milestone in the history of Kashmir struggle. He said for the first time no function in the held valley was scheduled to be allowed as not allowed by the despotic Indian occupational forces, to pay rich tributes to the Shohada due to severe restrictions of the occupying Indian government. Kashmiris he said have been facing worst kind of atrocities which has no example in the human history, but kashmiri will not bow against the repressions of Indian forces and they will continue their struggle till the achievement of goal of liberation. Meanwhile the international media houses including news agencies as well as Hurriyat leaders in IOK have widely hailed the decision of the AJK government for commemorating the Kashmir martyrs day on Monday to reiterate full respect and honour to the valiant Kashmiri martyrs besides to express sympathies with the bereaved families of innocent Kashmiris “The international Media is giving extensive coverage to this decision”, an AJK government spokesman said on Saturday.
