RAWALPINDI: Dengue Larva has been found in five areas of Rawalpindi city at large scale.
Owing to detection of Dengue larva in certain area, dengue teams have decided to step up surveillance in the respective localities. However no positive case has been registered in the District.
According to media reports the Chief Executive District Health Authority Dr. Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry said that dengue larva has been found at large scale during the indoor surveillance in Bangash Colony, Dhok Hassu, Ratta Amral, Dhok Ratta and Fauji Colony.
The larva has been destroyed and surveillance has been enhanced in the affected areas, he added.
CEO Health Authority said to monitor the dengue-counter campaign teams, the meetings of District Response Committees and Tehsil Response Committees are held regularly. Outdoor dengue surveillance is also ongoing in addition to door to door dengue surveillance, for which activity has been accelerated at union council’s level.
On the other hand the Health Department and All Pakistan Private Schools & Colleges Association have decided to run a joint awareness campaign on dengue.
