Lahore :  (PR)   Inspired by the stellar success of its first-ever Job Fair Series held in 2019,
the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) launched the 2020 edition
of the initiative, by holding the first job fair of this year in Lahore on February 18,
2020, offering the country's premium talent pool to employers from within and
outside of the provincial metropolis. The day-long event was held at the Pakistan
Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) Laboratories Complex, wherein
representatives from over 80 industries conducted interviews of a large number of
aspiring final year students of NUST, from disciplines including Engineering, IT,
Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, Biosciences, and
Architecture. Prominent companies from the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Electronics,
Information Technology, Light Engineering and Manufacturing sectors, among
others, attended the job fair. Some of the prominent firms at the occasion were
Millat Tractors, Packages Ltd, Ibrahim Fibres, Nishat Chunian, Hyundai, Nestle
Pakistan, Netsol, Berger Paints, etc.
Mr Anjum Nisar, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce &
Industry (FPCCI), inaugurated the Job Fair. He lauded NUST for presenting its
dynamic student pool to the job market in Lahore and adjacent areas, and
appreciated the industry for turning out in large numbers to interview and employ
students from the county's top-notch Engineering & Technology university. Around
300 students from NUST constituent Schools and Colleges located in Islamabad,
Rawalpindi, Risalpur and Karachi, pitched their potential to prospective employers,
who acknowledged their competence, dynamism, and innovative approaches to
contribute towards sustainable national development. NUST plans to hold the four
more job fairs in the coming weeks, in Faisalabad, Islamabad, Karachi and Multan.
