Complete shutter down observes in Jammu on Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru martyrdom,

Srinagar: Glowing tributes were paid to Baba-e-Qoam on his 36th martyrdom day. Complete shutter down observed in Jammu Kashmir. In a statement issued from head office Maqbool Manzil, Srinagar, chief spokesman JKLF Muhammad Rafiq Dar said that yesterday on 11th February the whole nation paid homage to their national hero Muhammad Maqbool Butt and pledged to continue their national struggle of freedom to its logical conclusion. The struggling people of Jammu Kashmir with high esteem remembered their national hero amidst threats from the so-called and self-imposed state government and administration, he added. While terming the observation of complete strike on the appeal of JKLF as people’s referendum against India and in favor of freedom, spokesman said that India must read this clear writing on the wall that complete independence is their ultimate goal and this dream of Maqbool Butt shall come true very soon. He said that a prayers meeting was held at Trehgam Kupwara, the birth place of Butt which was attended by his relatives and the local people. Handing over the mortal remains of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru including the immediate release of Yasin Malik were demanded on the occasion.

According to the statement big protest demonstrations, rallies, and seminars were held in AJK/GB, UK, EU and Middle East Zones that were led by party leadership and people in large number participated in these programs to pay homage to their national hero. While giving the details of the events the spokesman said that the ailing acting chairman and jail companion of Maqbool Butt jinab Abdul Hameed Butt along with Khawaja Parvez Iqbal, Aftab Chacha and Saad Ansari led a big rally in Mirpur. In the capital of AJK vice chairman JKLF Khawaja Saifudin presided over a jalsa held at Upper Adda Muzaffarabad that later turned into a rally led by vice chairman JKLF Saleem Haroon along with Khawaja Manzoor Chishti, Basharat Noori and many other senior leaders. Another similar protest rally and jalsa was held at Kotli led by central chief organizer Raja Haqnawaz Kahn, Dr. Toqeer Gilani, Malik Abdul Rahim and Ashfaq Kashmiri. Protest rally held at Charhoye was led by Central Dy. Sec. Gen. Sajid Siddiqi. Protest rally in city Bagh was led by Vice Chairman Hafiz Anwar Samavi, Khursheed Mirza and Jehangir Mirza. Rally at Khoiratta was led by Suhail Kataria, Jaleed Fareed and others. Big protest rally at Tattapani was led by SLF chairman Abdul Rahim Malik, Ghulam Ovais, Ayaz Karim and others. Advocate Touseef Jarral and others led another big rally at Kotjamel, Bhimber. Similar protests were held at Rawlakot, Hajeera, Sarsawa, Choki Samahani, Nard, Haveli, Thandi Kassi, Dhirkot, Rangla etc led by Sardar Rasheed, Haroon Sarwar, Yousuf Commando, Raja Sulaiman, Raja Haqnawaz, Raheel Hashmi, Kashif Hameed, Raja Tufail, Raja Tasneem respectively.

An indoor meeting was held at Gilgit office prsided over by president Gilgit Khawaja Saifudin Butt that was attended by many party leaders including Zia-ul-Haq, Maqbool Ahmed, Nusrat Hashmi and others. A seminar to remember Baba-e-Qoam at his martyrdom anniversary was held at Walsall, UK wherein senior party leaders including zonal president Syed Tehseen Gilani and Zonal general secretary Liaqat Lone put light on the stryggle of Maqbool Butt. JKLF Europe zone led by its president also held a token protest demonstration outside the India High Commission in Brussels, Belgium that was attended by many party leaders. It is worth to mention here that during all these programs held to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Baba-e-Qoam people and participants demanded handing over of remains Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru, and immediate release of incarcerated chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik.
