ABBOTTABAD:   (Parliament Times)    “Patriotism is our only hope to come out successfully from the present day crises – not only the liberation of Occupied Kashmir, but to solve all our problems. Speakers in the 23rd All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest reiterated”.

Annual Bilingual Declamation Contest of Army Burn Hall College for Boys, Abbottabad, is always an event of significance and festivity, being organized uninterrupted since 1997. A lot of efforts are made for preparation and organization of the event.
This year the topics of national interest were selected, probing the young minds to think critically and come up with constructive ideas. The competition also aimed at invoking patriotic spirit of the students, besides displaying intellectual depth and communication skills. Students from renowned education institutions of the country participated in the contest.

In a very close contest, Cadet College Hassan Abdal lifted the trophy. English individual prizes were clenched by Cadet Muhammad Farazdak of Cadet College Hassan Abdal, Ammmara Zia of Government College University Faisalabad and Cadet Muhammad Abdullah of Cadet College Karnal Sher Khan Swabi. Whereas, in Urdu Officer Cadet Shahbaz Mohsin of Pakistan Naval Academy Karachi stood first, Cadet Ramal Abbas of Cadet College Hassan Abdal 2nd and Musaffa Shahid of Army Burn Hall College for Girls Abbottabad 3rd.

In the closing session, the standard of the speeches were appreciated. The Chief Guest, an ex Principal of the College, Brig (Retd) Mahmud Bashir Bajwa urged upon students to improve the skills of oratory, which is an essential attribute of successful leader. He further emphasized on students to devote their energies to equip themselves with sound knowledge and impeccable character, in order to face a highly competitive world with confidence and poise. He also appreciated the efforts of College Management for organizing this event in a befitting manner.
