Rawalpindi:  (Parliament Times)      It was imperative for Prime Minister Imran Khan to use his constitutional authority to extend Gen. Qamar Javed Bajawa’s tenure to send clear message to warmongering leadership of India that political and military leadership of our country are on the same page, said Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan, ex candidate of National Assembly from NA 56 and 59 while presiding over a meeting of Global Peace Foundation to which he is keeping the chair of president.

He admired the decision and said warmongering statements emerging from India, progress in the Afghan peace process and overall geopolitical situation of the area needed the continuity and clarity in the political and military leadership of Pakistan. He also admired the role of Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa in making Pakistan Army more and more professional, strengthen and duty ful. ‘’ Having served as corps commander of Rawalpindi, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa has vast experience of dealing with issues related to Kashmir and the line of control and continuity of his services was needed in the interest of Pakistan keeping in view the present prevailing situation on our southern and eastern borders’’, he mentioned.

Haji Mohammad Gulzar Awan further said the Afghan peace process is developing very speedily and was needed to push towards result oriented efforts which was impossible without continuity of Gen. Bajwa’s services, who has much influence on Afghan Taliban and was involved in the development. He hoped that under the visionary, extra-ordinary and dynamic leadership of Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan would not only be able to keep the warmongering Indian leadership refrain from doing any adventure with Pakistan but also help our political leadership to win the successes in Afghan peace process.
