Rafiullah Mandokhail,

ZHOB: The protest of Balochistan Educational Employees Action Committee for the acceptance of their demands entered its second phase and like elsewhere in Balochistan a token hunger strike also started here at City Branch School. After protesting in front of press clubs the strike now entered to its second phase – token hunger strike. The five-day token hunger strike will continue till July 10th.

Chairman organizing committee Abdul Latif Mandokhail, Abdul Ghaffar Mandokhail, Alla ud Din Kakar from Balochistan Professors and Lecturer Association (BPLA) and Wali Khan Nasar from Senior Educational staff Accession (SEESSA) started token hunger strike at the camp set up at the primary school. Senior teachers were also present on the occasion.

Talking to journalists they said that the teachers across the province are united for their due rights and they would continue their protest until the acceptance of their demands and issuance of notification.

“The provincial government attempts to deprive the teachers from their basic rights and use of delaying tactics and red-tapism approach of the authorities cause unrest among the teachers community,” adding the teachers were united and determined for their due rights at any cost.

Conveyance allowance, house requisition, teachers’ up gradation, removal of Education Act 2018, 50% promotion quota, BPLA research fund, higher education allowance, health insurance cards, regularization of contract base teachers and provision of basic needs at educational institutions are the key demands of protesting teachers. Balochistan Educational Employees Action Committee comprises Government Teachers Association (GTA), Balochistan Professors and Lecturer Association (BPLA) and Senior Educational Staff Accession (SESA). The committee has started token hunger strike all districts of Balochistan.
