ZHOB: On the special directives of Inspector General of Frontier Corps (North) Major General Syed Fayyaz Hussain Shah, supervised by Commandant Zhob Militia Col. Tahir Bashir, Zhob Militia medical corps organized a free medical camp in the remote area of Zhob district, where poor patients were treated and provided with medicines free of cost.
As a goodwill gesture to provide health services to less-privileged communities at their doorstep, Zhob Militia set up a day-long free medical camp in the remote and poverty-hit area Tawda Kadozai area here, where over nine hundred poor and deserving patients were not only treated but also provided with free medicines.
Talking to correspondent Rafiullah Mandokhail, an official told that free medical camps were being set up to facilitate the poor population in the hilly areas of district.
“Free medical camp in an area that lacks basic facilities would not only ensure standard health care to the people at their doorstep but would also overcome health issues and control several chronic and seasonal diseases.” He hoped.
He said medical team examined over 930 patients including male, female patients and children suffering from various diseases. Medical staff also carried out diagnostic tests and provided them with free medicines. Children present at the camp were also administered anti-polio drops. He added.
It is worth mentioning that Zhob is one of the poor and backward districts in Balochistan that lacks health services in rural areas. The government-run health facilities in rural are not functioning properly that resulted an over burden on district headquarters civil hospital. The DHQ caters to over 0.5 million estimated population of Zhob, comprising dozens of villages, besides the patients belong to nearby districts Sherani, Killa Saifullah, Musakhail, Afghan nomads and Pak-Afghan borders areas.
