MUZAFFARABAD:  (Parliament Times)     The AJK minister for higher education Col. Retd. Waqar Ahmed Noor said government
was taking measures on priority to harmonize higher education with modern methods
and needs.

Addressing a ceremony under the aegis of Kashmir Institute of Management for
distributing certificates to principals and vice principals on completing 4 th  professional
development course the minister claimed that provision of quality education to the youth
was focus of the government.  He said teachers and professors are being inducted
through NTS and PSC to ensure quality education in the State. Training to principles
and vice principals would further improve the standard of education, he added.

He congratulated director general Kashmir Institute of Management Brig. Retd. Syed
Akhtar Hussain Shah for holding such important training course for heads of colleges
and expressed hope that it would be very useful for improvement of education system in
AJK. He urged the principals and vice principals to discharge their duties with passion

and commitment for providing modern and quality education to the students. Principals
and vice principals are role models and by and large the institutes’ performance depend
on their interest and efforts, he stated.

The minister urged them to double their efforts to meet the challenges of modern age in
education. More such training courses are required to be provided to heads of colleges,
he believed. Director General Kashmir Institute of Management and Director Staff Tariq
Butt also addressed on the occasion. Secretary Higher Education Zaheeruddin Qureshi,
other secretaries and heads of departments were present on the occasion.

Earlier Noor distributed certificates among participants of the course.
